Below is an excerpt from the House of Hope Mission Statement;

House of Faith Ministry, Inc. d/b/a Hudson Valley House of Hope provides a “house of hope.” Our mission is to eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence through sensitive prevention, intervention and treatment. We believe every person, regardless of age, race, faith or economic status deserves to be safe from harm by those who have abused them.

The House of Faith was founded by Rev. Luader Smith. After advising her sister, Brenda, who battled with domestic abuse, lived through three marriages and eventually died from drug abuse, Rev. Smith decided she would not just shelter, but educate families on domestic violence.

Hudson Valley House of Hope opened its doors in July 2008. Today we are licensed for 14 beds to house victims of abuse and their children. We hope lives will be vastly improved and/or saved by the existence of this program. We hope achievement will replace hopeless-ness and broken lives. We hope their lives will be healed and mended forever.”
