What We Do

Here are some of the many ways that our local council 13378 of the Knights of Columbus demonstrates the four principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism:
Knights of Columbus Annual Carnival - This yearly event held during the last week of June is our biggest event of the year, and our biggest fundraiser.

Lenten Fish Fry at Saint Kateri Church - During Lent, our council hosts a fish fry in the community room at Saint Kateri.

Annual Rob Kelly and Council Picnic - Each year our council helps host the Rob Kelly Memorial Picnic, in memory of our fallen brother. Proceeds from the event are donated to a local cause.

Feeding the Homeless - Once a month, the council prepares meals for the homeless in Poughkeepsie, either delivering meals to shelters or teaming up with Hope on a Mission to serve meals directly on the streets.

Christmas Gift Collection for the House of Hope - Each December, the council brothers organize a gift collection for some of the less fortunate families in our community

Food collection for the Saint Vincent De Paul Society - Each year around the holidays, the council works with local stores to collect food to be distributed through the Saint Vincent De Paul food pantry at Saint Columba School

Assistance to the Saint Kateri parish - whether ushering at mass, helping decorate for the holidays, or assisting with routine maintenance, our parish priests know they can count on the brothers to help in any way they can.

Donations - Funds from the various fundraisers we run throughout the year are donated back to the community. Recently, we have used our funds to sponsor local Little League teams, donate to Hope on A Mission, and to help support several local families who have experienced financial hardship due to injury or illness.

In addition to all of the above - sometimes the brothers gather together for some fun - whether that be watching a football game together at the hall, or a group trip.
